This is my first review on MouthShut and am hoping people can get something useful out of it. I bought an old second hand bullet('95 model). I've spent quite a bit getting it redone in the way I wanted. First the modifications:
1) Royal Enfield Electra handlebars with lead weights - improves turning ease, range and gives it a slightly wide look( compared to before).
2) Chrome Front and Rear Mudgaurd - When polished, gives a nice twist to the look.
3) License Plate on Front Mudgaurd - Gives it the old fashioned Bullet look.
4) Royal Enfield Machismo guages - I like the white background gauges compared to the regular black background ones.
Other than these cosmetic changes, I've done nothing to my bike.
As my bike was second hand, it had run 96, 000 kilometers before I bought it. Now, the next question would be: If it had run 96, 000 kilometers in 10 years or so, why buy it? The answer is simple, the previous owner had done a very very good job maintaining it.
MY BULLET GIVES ME 32 - 35 KMPL! Believe it. After my bike crossed 1, 00, 000 kilometers, I got a new bore(original Bullet Spares) . This is the only repair I've done to my bike other than regular servicing.
The ride is magnificient. I'm into sales and traveling 100 km a day is normal and over the last two years I've never had any back problems. The handling is superb. You don't feel the weight, it doesn't even vibrate at any speed and I've crossed 130 kmph with a pillon and never a vibration. The best ride, comfort, and feel that I've ever experienced. The battery has never gone down to the point where the bike has not started. I've traveled in the night for 3 hours without any stops and never had any problems. In fact, the bike gets better the longer it runs and heats up.
