Last year I saw two of the great Hollywood stars share the screen in American Gangsters and what a movie that was. This year I was expecting same kind of charisma with Righteous Kill. This movie had two of the great Hollywood veterans come together. Al Pacino, of whom I have been a fan since the day I watched him in Godfather.
Rober De Niro who has done such versatile roles in his career. But you can't help it when you have two diamonds casted in an ugly plastic ring. Individually both diamonds are mesmerizing but together with the ring the whole effect is negated. Same can be said about this movie. So much predictable plot, even a child could have known the ending. No breath taking dialogues, no spectacular moments, nothing at all.
The movie was a major disappointment as a whole. The whole charm of casting De Niro and Pacino together was lost somewhere in a loose screenplay. If this movie is going to sell anywhere, it will be only based on its star cast. Wait for this movie to be telecast on tv channels. No fun in watching it on big screen.
