Richard Marx-Where and how it started for...

Originality:

Initially, in my early engineering days, I used to walk around two kilometers from my college to catch the Bus to my house. I preferred going to the Bus Stand and grabbing a seat than to catch a bus near the college and hang out from its footboard like Tarzan!!

So, the walk to the bus stand gives me an opportunity to see a lot of buzzing activity around me. Vehicles dominating with their stereophonic cacophony, People of all ages walking around briskly with their own usual expressions and a lot of people selling cheap maaal (stuff) on the pavements.

I see a man selling pirated audio cassettes (old stolen included) with a smallish crowd surrounding him. I cannot remember how he looked as it was long. long ago) I give an explorative glance at the cassettes he is selling and see many Regional, National and some English ones scattered like a heap of chappals(a chappal heap? cheeechee bad usage!).

It is 40 minutes since I left the college and am in the Bus seated on the last row. I prefer rear seats the most 'cos I can see what's coming from behind (sort of PANORAMIC view). In my hand, is a pirated cassette that was bought for 5 rupees (0.1 dollars) and the album name reads ''RICHARD MARX -Paid Vacation''

This was the first English album that I had listened to completely (the whole album, I mean) and was still euphoric after I listened to it a dozen times.

This event triggered of a buying spree, which stopped at ''RICHARD MARX -Greatest hits''. I usually collect as many songs as possible if I like an artist.

Every artist, after releasing a few albums or when he or she is running short of creative talent or money or hits, comes out with a GREATEST HITS to get the Coffers filling. And from the listener's point of view, it is always a minimum risk decision to buy a greatest Hits album.

I have taken long to come to the actual thing haven't I? I apologize.

About the artist: A handsome guy who now is in his 39th year settled in Illinois, USA and is a married man with 3 children. Has 8 albums or so to his credit till date.

Album Release: Greatest Hits includes hits from his previous 5 albums. Was Released in 1997 and the Asian version was released later in 1998. Includes ''Slipping Away'' and ''Thanks To You'', a tribute to his mother.

Lyrics: Richard Marx

The song :In this song, Richard Marx recalls the good times with the girl of his life. The song is medium paced.

2)Angelia:

From the Album: Repeat Offender

The song: Richard Marx is deserted by his lover and he says what she means to him and that he has done everything to please her. He wants to carry on with his life since she has carried on. The song is a bit fast paced.

3) Hazard:

From the Album: Rush Street

Lyrics: Richard Marx

The song: This song is the song that many people associate Richard Marx with and is a big time hit till date. The music video also looks great. There is a lot of suspense attached to the song and please do some searching to find out the answers. The vocals in this song are stunning and I can bet that the voice will linger in ur mind forever.

4) Children of the night:

From the Album: Repeat Offender

Lyrics: Richard Marx

The song: The song is about poor ones posing optimism

For their struggles in life leading to a bright future.

Nice song with a lot of Chorus.

5) Until I Find You Again:

From the Album: Flesh and Bone

Lyrics: Richard Marx

The song: This one is one of my favorites in the album, as I like the way Richard Marx has sung it. The lyrics are testimony to the emotional depth of the song. These are the lyrics:

Lately I've been trying

To fill up my days since you're gone.

The speed of love is blinding,

And I didn't know how to hold on.

My mind won't clear.

I'm out of tears.

My heart's got no room left inside.

How many dreams will end?

How long can I pretend?

How many times will love pass me by,

Until I find you again?

Will the arms of hope surround me?

Will time be a fairweather friend?

Should I call out to angels,

Or just drink myself sober again?

I can't hide, it's true.

I still burn for you.

Your memory just won't let me go.

How many dreams will end?

How long can I pretend?

How many times will love pass me by,

Until I find you again?

I'd hold you tighter,

Closer than ever before.

Yeah.

No flame would burn brighter,

If I could touch you once more,

Hold you once more!

How many dreams will end?

How long can I pretend?

How many times will love pass me by, until I find you again?

'till I find you again..

6) Keep Coming Back:

From the Album: Rush Street

Lyrics: Richard Marx

The song: The song is about Richard Marx expressing his weakness and helplessness to this girl he loves.

7) Right Here Waiting:

From the Album: Repeat Offender

Lyrics: Richard Marx

The song: The music is simple with a piano playing in perfect harmony with the magical voice. Another beautiful senti luv song. A slowly paced song.

8) Now and Forever:

From the Album: Paid Vacation

Lyrics: Richard Marx

The song: A ballad that is a hit even today. Superb vocals. One of my favorites.

Is he a bit out dated? U decide for urself as I consider this album to be a decent buy.
