There are times in the life of certain individuals when the world refuses to acknowledge that they are no more. Blessed are those lives.
Now, Sherlock Holmes is a fictitious character. Such a man as this never walked in flesh and blood on mother Earth. That Sir Arthur Conan Doyle gave him a shape, a vision, an intelligence; in short, a life, is a fact known to all. So much so that when Holmes died in a fierce battle with his rival on the cliff of a mountain, none would have it. There were protests to bring the man back to life. Conan Doyle had to give in; thus proving, yet once again that public protest is a very strong thing indeed.
I shall not share the plot here. After all, that is the charm of a detective novel: unknown plot at the start. However, I shall tell you that Dr. Watson was pleasantly surprised when he saw Holmes in flesh and blood, and refused to believe his sight in the first place.
Like all Doyle's classic, this is also a must read. I can assure you that it will leave you wandering, just like me.
