After Doing a lot of research, I decided to buy this product.(One silly reason is, the reliance store is just 100m from house in himayathnagar hyderabad).
I paid Rs 2300/- for the data card which is of ZTE AC2736 model and subscribed for 1049 Plan (3 GB Day and 10 GB Night). The Store guy was helpful in the process and activated my product within 30 minutes and whoa! I was able to use it the same day and the speed was Good but not excellent.
Now coming to the speed modes, there are 3 types of speed modes namely 1.) Broadband+ 2.) Highspeed 1x 3.) Hybrid
Broadband+ is available only in major cities of India whereas speed 1x and Hybrid are available in small towns and villages.
on the first day, Broadband+ gave me Download rate of around 40-45 KiloBytes/Sec and upload rate of Around 30-35 KiloBytes/Sec which is almost equivalent to 512 Kbps plan of airtel, so not bad at all
P.S I never operate the data card in HighSpeed 1x and Hybrid mode so no idea how is that
But I thought of increasing the speed of data card by adding google DNS servers in my connection settings and there was an improvement in the speed.
SO far average Download speed has been around 45 KB/Sec and Upload speed around 33 KB/s. ( I use networx software for speed and usage calculations)
Please note that Kbps is Kilobits /sec and not KiloBytes/second
The download speed is calculated in KiloBytes and not Kilobits. So dont confuse between them
As far as the customer service goes, It is somewhat comedy. They misspelled my name and my e-mail id in their records and for correcting that they are calling me every day for confirming the same.
My story has been so far so good till now. And I am happy with reliance datacard speed and Surfing experience.
The major disadvantage is they dont have unlimited plan and their existing plans are expensive.
If you subscribe to reliance, check your data usage and unbilled amount on a regular basis on their website.
So Strictly 3/5 for this product.
