Dear HighSpeed Internet User,


In your quest for highspeed internet, I am sure you too have burnt your fingers with many different providers. However, bad as most of them might be, Reliance is by far, the worst. Here is my horror story.


I used to work from home, sending and receiving large amounts of data. So, I needed a high speed connection. I called the Reliance guys and they came over and gave me a semi-wireless dish connectivity. The speeds were decent and the service seemed consistent for the first 3-4 months.


Then, In September, my internet went down. I think it might have something to do with the rains, but I can't be sure. My wife and I made a complaint and they sent someone over. The connection worked for 24 hours and then went kaput again. So, like patient Indians, conditioned by apathy and mediocrity, instead of cancelling the connection, we called again. 3 times. Our complaint numbers -

However, this time around, I guess the Reliance internet people had too much on their plate. They promised to send someone over 3 times, and all the 3 times, we had absolutely no visitors. So, in frustration, we requested for cancellation of the service.


Now - the best part. I receive a bill for 3 months of unpaid dues(when the connection was down for 2 months of those 3 months) from an advocate who threatens to take me to court. So, I have just recently mailed them telling them my story. I don't expect to be heard, but I expect you to hear. My advice -


1> Do not take a Reliance internet connection2> If you have one, and if your net goes down, make meticulous notes of downtime, complaint numbers, time and date of complaints, and if possible, get the name of the inept customer centre retard you just got off the phone with. 3> If you have faced these sort of situations, where a large conglomerate provides shoddy service and then threatens for payment, post about them here on Mouthshut. It's the only way we can save other consumers and deny the predators more easy meat.
