How customers are cheated by redBus booking portal and bus services like Kaleswari Travels published by them.
redBus cannot absolve itself of responsibility in cases the bus service does not provide the service for which a ticket is sold via redBus. In the case of default or fraudulent activity by a bus service, they would have faced multi-million dollar damages in countries like the US.
I had a very bad experience with a ticket bought via redBus for Kaleswari Travels - it was for Mercedes Benz Multiaxle sleeper bus for which I paid Rs.1349. Bangalore to Hyderabad on Monday, Oct 26, 2015. The bus was supposed to pick me up from Bellandur at 9 pm. The following are what actually happened:
I was picked up from Bellandur in a run down pickup bus - not the actual Mercedes Benz bus as per ticket purchased. The bus went all over Bangalore in a crisscross manner for 1.5 hours, picking up passengers for several buses, thus wasting my time.
The pickup bus brought us to Anand Rao circle and asked us to board another run down sleeper bus which was neither Mercedes Benz nor multiaxle. The bus supervisor, was cooking up multiple stories that the original Mercedes bus was under repair, etc. But couple of passengers were irate - they were being duped for the 2nd time by Kaleswari Travels and this time they did not want to let go.
After a lot of argument, the passengers boarded the bus - the bus structure was cramped, the bed sheets and blankets were very dirty.unwashed for about 5 years!
The bus spent ages hanging around Bangalore and finally left the city pretty late. Around 80 kms from Hyderabad, it broke down and would not start again.for more than an hour we were stranded there.
I boarded another bus that stopped for tea/food. I had to pay this bus Rs.200
It was a sordid experience and I want a refund of Rs.200 from redBus/Kaleswari Travels. Public should be aware of this fraudulent bus service named Kaleswari Travels. redBus should introduce a passenger rating system and should de-list bus services that have too many complaints against them or have low customer satisfaction ratings.
