Ratna Café, Triplicane is one of the old good hotel one can find in Chennai. This is the place where you can find exceedingly good quantity of quality Sambar along with idli's till date. Recently they have expanded their presense in many a places in Chennai like, ECR, Velachery, T.Nagar etc.,
Their speciality is Idly, Vadai, Dosa with Chutney and Sambar, order any of these mentioned items in Ratna Café, it will be a treat to your Taste Buds. In other words these delectable dishes will win the war against you easily, where you will surrender your Taste Buds and the Sensation to these scrumptious dishes. And not to forget one more thing, which you will surrender namely "Money". These items are exorbitantly charged.
Thanks to the spending culture, which sprouted recently due to the Financial Boom in IT, Real Estate, Oil, Consultancy, Aviation & Other sectors. These so called affluent strata were the main cause for the increase in prices all over the spectrum. Not only the Food & Beverage, Hosptiality Industry but every other industry took advantage of this and added more Value to their Balance Sheet.
The ambience and service are not proportionate for the amount that you shell out. Seating arrangment, ventilation, service with a smile, kitchen & wash room cleanliness are the area they need to work little bit. I will not say that this hotel is as much as crowded Saravana Bhavan.
The food quality of other dishes like Chinese & North Indian are on par with the bourgeoisie class hotels, which are available in Chennai. Overall, I am satisfied with food quality and service. The only area where they need to work on is Pricing. Keep up the quality and quantity.
