You wonder why Mouthshut even has a Rating System you say? The Rating System serves first of all for the consumer. The consumers will look at ratings and be more apt to buy products of those with highly rated reviews. Most reviews that are highly rated are good, solid reviews.
A member of Mouthshut with high reviews is a ''high-quality'' member. These members with all ''Highly Recommended'' reviews are respected members of MouthShut. Their peers have read and rated their reviews and judged accordingly. You should not only write good reviews on Mouthshut, but take some time to view your peer's writings. I've learned a lot from reading other reviews. Each writer has their own unique style. I enjoy learning of others experiences, travels, and thoughts and ideas on a variety of subjects here at Mouthshut. So secondly, ratings are important to each and every writer here. The ratings are your integrity, your backbone to this site. Your writing speaks for itself, but your ratings stand behind your reviews.
When rating other reviewer's work you should always read with an open mind and be fair. This is a universal site with members from all around the world. We all come from different cultures and backgrounds and there will be some things you will not understand. Remember also, that you are rating the review and not the writers opinion. I like to remember the Golden Rule when rating, ''Do Unto Others, As You Would Have Them Do Unto You''.
