Irresponsible gimmicks is what they call the thiranga yatra and other sensational issues taken up by BJP.
Political analysts say that BJP lost recent lok sabha elections inspite of its good campaign about its achievements on financial front because there were no emotional issues in favour of it.This loss made BJP to look back to issues which are popular with masses.
Parties play various gimmicks to develop political fortunes.
CRY HOARSE ABOUT PRICE RAISES EVEN WHEN IT IS INEVITABLE
Congress has taken up the issue of price raise in Delhi(earlier when onion prices raised) and in Andhra pradesh (high electricity tariffs). The poor performance of it in Lok Sabha elections of Gujarat and in Tamil Nadu are partially because the state Govt. raised power tariffs in a bid to restructure the loss making Electricity Boards. How far it is responsible to offer power free while Electricity Boards are making losses and make political gain out of it. How will the power sector improve if they do so ?
COMMUNAL ISSUES
Even before BJP has excelled at communal issues congress tried to benefit from communal issues for example (Shilanyas issue& muslim Women Act) during Rajeev Gandhi period.Only difference is some parties look for x vote bank other party looks for Y.
CHERISHMATIC LEADERS AND FILM ACTORS.
Giving party ticket to a glamour person who has nothing to do with the party's political ideaology or just use them in campaigning.
PERSONS WITHOUT ANY POLITCAL COMMITMENT.
If a person can win with his money power or man power he gets a seat no matter if he has criminal record.
The electorate today is divided into two parts-the politically enlightened (educated)who can evaluate the performance of Govt. and the masses which are swayed away by some issues.
In such a situation what parties have understood is that it should show some good work to attract the educated and indulge some vote bank politics to gather masses.
The big question now is whether it is fair to try to get political advantage through what ever way possible.
Well the saying goes every thing is fair in love and war. What about politics??. The issue calls for a national debate. What do you think??????
