MATCH UPDATE
We lost badly, to say the least.
I am so happy that I am right again:-). Times of India has completely ignored Rahul dravid's silly RUN out. I am not blaming Rahul at all for this. I respect him as a cricketer but just wanted to tell you that this is the real face of Indian media. If it had been Ganguly they would have tagged him as Public Enemy No. 1 . But there is still a little ray of hope. In Hindustan Times, a article written by Kadambari Murali did highlight this run out.
As I am writing this piece of review, India is on the verge of losing the second test match at lahore. Some shoddy umpiring and uninspired battingfrom our famed batting line up will probably lead India to a big defeat. Rahul Dravid (The Wall) has failed again as a batsman in this test match and got himself run out while trying to jog his way to a single. It was funny that such a responsible batsman took the fielder (Imran Farhat) so lightly. Even though he is the acting captain, he is one of India's premier batsmen and this was not done.
But I can assure you all of one thing that our media will not highlight this irresponsible run out that cost us the wall. However, it is the wall who has to be blamed for this. They will probably not even mention it as it is not Ganguly who committed this mistake.
I can bet on my life (YES, my life) that if it had been Ganguly, he would have been criticised and bashed like a street dog by this scheming Indian media (Bobbilli Viyaya Kumar of TOI) of ours and forgotten so-called experts like Bishen Singh Bedi and Maninder Singh. He would have been blamed for the team's defeat. His stats would have been the headlines in fake newspapers, such as, Times of India et all.
I did not see a single question being posed by that silly laughable woman AFSHA ANJUM ( of NDTV India) to Navjyot Singh Sidhu in wake of this silly run out. Avid newspaper readers might find that Rahul dravid's poor running will be totally overlooked.
Please watch this review tomorrow.
I promise you that I will take back my words regarding the useless sick demeaning Indian (Print and Television) media of ours which will most certainly not discuss how irresponsible Rahul dravid was while taking that single. They will only discuss Steve Bucknor's umpiring as he has given some very debatable decisions against the Indians. But can we just blame Steve Bucknor for giving Akash Chopra out who was probably given a wrong LBW decision ?
What about our dogged Dravid, irrepressible Tendulkar, classy laxman and talented yuvraj ?We all are aware of this fact that we Indians look up to Rahul in such situations and he let us down badly. I will not take away the fact he is still our wall and will remain so for the next few years.
Also, some Food for thought!
Rahul Dravid as a captain has scored 57 runs in 3 tests (1
against NZ, 2 against PAK) and 5 innings with a wholesome
average of 11.40. The scores are 13,5,6,33,0.
I am expecting comments, be it positive or negative from you people. But dont forget giving this space a visit tomorrow as I will come back with excerpts of articles written by the so called cricket analysts and column fillers.
Anyways, I hope Ganguly comes back and puts the Indian team back on track. It will be very tough for Sourav as we will probably lose this test match badly and with Steve Bucknor still waiting to officiate :-() in the 3rd test match, you can expect anything (That's a real scare ) . Then again who knows what will happen tommorrow (4th day of 2nd Test match) with our own power hitter SEhwag still out there and that unbelievable young Pathan yet to come. Who knows?
Also wanted to add that, this Indian team knows how to fight even when the chips are down and even if we lose this test match or even the series, India has performed better than any other team that went to Pakistan.
P.S- I will change my product rating later as I too don't feel that well rating this guy low. But for the time being, it will remain as it is.
