Rahul Dravid alias 'The Wall' is the most technically sound batsman in the Indian team. His classic cover drives and leg glances are a joy to watch. He was too slow when he came to the Indian team and was scoring at a strike rate below fifty in ODIs which was quite unacceptable. He was regarded as the slowest batsman of that time. His slow batting had lead to a lot of collapses of Indian team. But later he came back strongly with some superb performance in Ranji cricket which forced the selectors to call him back to the Indian team.
From that moment, there had been no stopping for 'the wall'. He had been a frequent member of Indian team and has stabilised the team whenever they needed it. He has proved himself as a good slip fielder and also a wicket keeper. He can't be called a wicket-keeper batsman. The name that more suits him is a 'batsman wicket-keeper. Even if he is still poor in hitting big hits, he times the ball well and gives strike to his partner when needed. He is a good runner between wickets too.
