With the scores of 144* and 67 in the West Indies Rahul Dravid has again proved that why he is very important to the Indian cricket team.Standing comfortably even after being hit by a Mervyn Dillon bouncer he took his team out of trouble. He is one of the main pillars of the Indian cricket team.
Although Rahul Dravid is recognised as a main batsman he also has the capability of wicket keeping which he has done excellently in One-Day Cricket even better than Deep Dasgupta. He has also bowled some off-spin in the shorter variety of the game.Dravid is the master of the basics and techniques of the game and is a technically very correct player. His defensive technique is wonderful and is a delight to watch in the game which is becoming aggressive. If the side is collapsing from one end Dravid stands on the other end like a rock and does not panic and plays his natural game.
He is the only batsman in the current Indian team who has a better overseas record than home record.Out of his total 10 hundreds in Test Cricket 6 are overseas.Scoring back to back centuries in World Cup and scoring a world record partnership with Sourav Ganguly in the World Cup against Sri Lanka are the biggest achievements of his One-Day career
Currently shining in many advertisements in the current Indian team he is the only player who can become a Model only by his looks that is why I think that many Indian girls like him too much
It is very important for Dravid to make a impact in the Indian One-day team.Though he is not a attacking player he can add a new dimension to his batting if he can rotate the strike regularly with occasional boundaries by placing the balls in the gaps instead of playing technically correct shots straight to the fielder.
Though many may criticize him he his no doubt a great batsman and a great pillar of indian cricket team because he is very hard to get out when he gets set amd in Navjot Singh Sidhu's words(Sidhuism) ''Dravid is as solid as the Rock Of Gibraltar''
