Radio City 91FM - In my opinion is a radio channel for people with low taste in music.
The channel almost throughout the day plays remixes. It tries to get audience participations for requesting songs etc..
But looks like the Radio Jokies have very limited choice of music. Interesting part is if you listen Radio City everyday, you will get bored at the same music getting played everyday.
In bangalore, the issue is monopoly, there are hardly any other radio channel which can compete better, since rest of them are mostly local channels or partime into Hindi & English music.
There is certainly more hype around 91FM, and tries to attract the youngters perhaps.
There could have created good variations by playing music for all taste at various parts of the day. They could have done short plays etc.. But its just lacks any creativity. RJs here have very poor sense of music.
Instead of playing remixes for 80% of the time, they could have done programs for western music, hindi songs from one theme, or movie. Or invited some music director and had him select songs etc..
Its quite boring at times. Unlike cities like Mumbai or calcutta in bangalore one has vey limited choice with Radio channels, thats why its still shines in bangalore.
