I miss my study days! One of the main reasons being - missing the Friday’s FDFS [sigh!] … Work work and work, that’s all I see around these days. Going to the multiplex for a movie that too during weekend needs a proper planning these dayz. Login then booking the tickets, multiplex helpdesk to rescue if the session breaths out during transaction!
MS seems to be a gr8 help to decide whether to categorize a movie ‘must on theatre’ or ‘idle afternoon at home’. I was sure not to miss Saifu in the chase! Got enough input before I was on for the movie. It was pouring outside cats & dogs and that helped me to get engrossed in the movie [cos I knew I was not missing anything out].
The movie starts with a climax – a blue car speeding on the beautiful roads of South Africa where a huge wagon trying to create a block! I was enjoying the speed on big screen when suddenly noticed the truck stopped & un-strapped the pipes. Ohhhhh.. the car is almost smashed [what a waste of viewers money].. I see a hand coming out of the car window. Is it the beginning of the movie? Don’t tell me now the story will get onto a flashback mode.
The story is around two brothers [Saifu & Akshay Khanna] and the respective babes in their life. Hold on, I am not going to reveal who is paired with whom, the whole suspense of the movie is around the pairing part : ) As the heroes belong to business family, you will get to see lovely cars around.
Rajeev [Akshaye Khanna] is a brat and ready to anything for daaroo. He had done justice to the role. But I found him little stereotype. We have seen him on similar role before. And with the looks / the grin / delivery of speech – not much difference.
Anil Kapoor entertained us as D’costa, a private detective. His role has a catch. He keeps eating throughout. Interesting character but one question, does he really need to do such role now? Nothing challenging is delivered by old famed Lakhan. Liked his idea of asking to handover the bribe to orphanage and collecting it from manager later – which helped him to stay away from the direct heat.
Sameera Reddy came as Mini, yaar how could one do whatever the director asks them to do limitlessly? I remembered Karamchand’s silly assistant for a moment! Is it like one ought to be dumb to become private detective’s assistant?
Now let me talk about the rel babes in the movie. Both Bips & Kat is ravishing. Kat’s is really stunning in ‘touch me…’ song in her blue flair dress. Bips seems aged [what do I mean by seems aged, she is :)] in couple of scenes but acting wise good throughout! Kat's acting skill is really improved.
Saifu! He is too good in the movie. With a different look and his style and acting ofcourse he made his presence felt. Now as it is been sometime the movie is released – I can easily reveal the suspense, but then late-watchers like me might lose interest on the movie. All I say here is – this is a movie we get to see Saifu’s one of the fine performances.
First twist in kahani was a shock for me? What ! Saifu is dead? After a long time saw the hero dying that too in the mid of the movie. Well, may be that way it is scripted. As they say – the show must go [irrespective of whoever dies etc]. While D’costa is busy resolving the mystery there comes the second twist in kahani. Needless to say – I loved this one and the stunt work during second climax is amazing.
Music of the movie is good but does not leave much mark once the movie is over.
Good to see such thoda hatke movies in bollywood. Overall, Abbas Mastan’s suspense thriller ‘Race’ is a good show with the Cars and Babes …
Preferbly to be watched with someone / group - in front of whom you can comment did khol ke :D
