Race2,sequel of its predecessor that came out in 2008.After 5 years,a sequel with new characters except for Saif ali khan.
Story:
Its a story of a billionaire John,his sister Deepika,Girl frn Jaqueline and his friend turned foe Saif.
Saif plans a heist in order to take revenge of his lost wife Sonia(Bips revisits in bits and pieces),John being the planner for the murder of the lady.The heist which is supposed to destory Armaan Mallik(John).
After much twists and fights and songs-dance routine,the best man finally wins.end of story!!
Direction:
Its a typical Abbas mustan thriller with suspense and "u dont know whats gonna happen next" spice sprinkled to it.But it reminds you of the dud "Players" that released last year.Story,the plan of stealing money printing machine etc looks quiet familiar.
It looks more like a take from hollywood and old bollywood movies.Abbas mustan have lost the originality they displayed in Baazigar.
Star cast and acting:
John looks dashing but dumb.He tries to act smart but fails miserably.
Jacky and Deepika look hot but they dont have much to portray apart from glossy makeup,dresses and shoes.
Anil Kapoor is not yet over his last act and tries to imitate the Race1 acts as much as he can.Fruits salad jokes sound boring and stale.
Saif was the only saving grace of the movie.His entry scene,his style and the acting,every aspect befits the requirement of a stylish thriller.
Amisha patel-pls quit the bollywood industry and spare us the torture.
Music-
Avergae scores.Music level much below the standards set by its predecessor.Beintehaan was the only melodious number,but even it sounds like a take from "pehli nazar me"
Pritam has become an expert in copying music from the west and the starting track of this movie proves the point yet again.
Overall verdict-
Much below the standards and expectations set by Race1,this movie deserves 2 stars at the max.
