MY HUNGER FOR BAD MOVIES

Everything started a few months ago, when I went to imdb to check for Amrita Rao's profile. There I found a weird movie in her filmography, and it was Pyare Mohan. As I had a closer look into it, the others stars were Fardeen Khan, Vivek Oberoi and Esha Deol, and I never had any high impression about these three!

This gave me the feeling that its a long time since I wrote on a bad movie! So with great expectations that this is going to be a poor movie, I went for this one. But I have to say that I was disappointed because it happened to be a good movie, but certainly not as funny as Darna Zaroori Hai! The real fact was that most of the people didn't even knew about this movie here, and many of their were still under the bad influence of Shaadi Se Pehle.

HERE COMES...

Coming closer to the movie, we have two handicapped heroes instead of the three we had in ''Tom Dick & Harry''! Pyare (Fardeen Khan) is blind and Mohan (Vievk Oberoi) happens to be deaf. They were stuntmen in Bollywood until they lost their sight and hearing ability. But they have not yet surrendered to the cruel fate, as they are going on with their life, running a small Archies shop. But they support each other quite well, and they don't usually get the time to think and worry about their incapabilities.

The most interesting scene in the movie may be the moments when these two guys are introduced. Fardeen starts off with reading the newspaper upside down and Vivek, dancing to the songs he just can't hear! Actually, the movie doesn't start with these two guys. The beginning of the movie does give us the impression of a more serious movie, but this is certainly nothing more than a comedy movie.

LOVE MATTERS

The search of these two guys for love, seems to end when they happens to meet two girls Preeti (Esha Deol) and Priya (Amrita Rao). Just as you would expect, Mohan changes the route seeing Priya and Pyare collides with Preeti. The two girls happens to be sisters.

Now both are invited to the girls' house (the ''sisters factor'' removes the probability of Pyare Mohan getting seperated). Both thinks that they have found true lovers in them! But the sisters are to leave to Bangkok for a concert, and at the Air-port, the dreams of Pyare and Mohan are shattered as the two girls manages to say that the two guys were just their good trusted friends!

Now the two girls sit in peace after breaking two hearts, but on the way, the climate gets too bad and it seems as if the plane may crash! Due to fear of death and nothing else, a guy sitting near the girls, Tony (Boman Irani) confesses to a priest in the plane that he is an underworld don and also about his plans.

But just after he finishes his confession, the weather becomes normal again, and now he is to eliminate the priest and the girls as they know the truth! He is successful in sending the priest directly to heaven and the girls are arrested for the murder!

Now only our heroes Pyare and Mohan can save them, as they are on the way to Bangkok after hearing about it in the news! Now the usual question is - ''Will they save the heroines?''. But I will say the question should be - ''How will they save the heroines?'', because this is supposed to be a comedy movie, and you are expected to save the heroines in a funny way! But the movie gets a bit serious in the end for sure.

THE OSCAR PERFORMANCE

Fardeen Khan looks original as the blind pyare, even if he doesn't seem to have much attraction towards comedy. He has done some realistic acting throughout the movie, and he looks extremely good at the end. Vivek Oberoi looks a bit dumb (even if he is playing a deaf character), but he has done some justice to his role, and I got a feeling that the comedy roles does suit him.

The two girls aren't two impressive in the movie. Amrita Rao certainly got the advantage of being too cute (no wonder she is my favourite actress), and Esha Deol also looks good, but both of them doesn't seem to do except for showing some feelings in a weird manner rather than much expressions! Well, this is not the kind of a movie where they can show their acting skills. But they have managed to make it to the end of the movie without error!

Boman Irani, our villain is pretty good, even if he just seems to be a bit confused about being funny or serious. His initial scene with the baseball bat seems too identical to a scene in a serious Malayalam movie, ''Highway'', where the villain uses a cricket bat to finish off the traitors! Snehal Dabhi as his younger brother, has given a good performance too, and he looks too good in some of the comedy scenes.

I think that this movie is better than Indra Kumar's other attempt ''Masti'', even if not too good. The movie got many hilarious moments and a few of them are extremely good. It is the right movie for wasting time, and as long as you don't think much about logic, it will keep you laughing and laughing! If you ever manage to stop laughing, you are sleeping! But don't forget that there are some nice songs in the movie to wake you up.....

Diving out.....
