Finally managed to visit the restaurant. Had heard so much about it. Without wasting time, lemme get straight to the review. 4 people; 2 veg and 2 non-veg.
First lemme strat with;
Drinks: Try out Aam Panah Soda, Shikanji and ofcourse the Lassi.
Entree or Starters: Since I am a vergetarian, I'll first write about Veg Entree. We ordered the;
Khatti Meethi Gobi: If you are the one who doesn't shy away from experimenting, I would recommend you to try the Khatti Meethi Gobi. They also have the option of Khatte Meethi Aloo. The taste of the dish, true to its name, was khatta & meetha. A nice blend of both the taste; Na ek kam, Na ek zyada.
Choora Papad: Papad mixed with fresh coriander, red chilli powder, salt, a dash of amchur for khatas and finally fried, crushed and served. Amazing taste.
Amritsari Fish Fry: I am told to write the feedback that though the taste was good, the dish was very dry.
Tandoori Chicken: One can never get this one wrong, isn't it? However, again I am told to mention that though the taste was perfect, it was little under cooked.
Mains: Namak Ajwain Do Roti(a must try), Laccha Paratha, Paneer Dhaniya Adraki, Kadi Pakoda and Chicken Bawarchi Di Pasand.
Though I always try to eat anything other than Paneer, but Paneer Dhaniya Adraki dish I must say sounded quite different and hence we ordered. Mildly spiced, not very sweet, well seasoned with the required spices and salt.
Kadi Pakoda was tasty, however, the pakodas I found was more like the gatte rather than pakode. Nevertheless, no complaints on the taste. It was nice and hot(garam), adequetly spiced and well seasoned.
I am told the Chicken Bawarchi Di Pasand had an unusal taste with brown gravy and is a must try for the non-vegetarians.
Final cherry on the topping are the Paan Shots which are given complimentary for the 1st rounds, post that if you need another, you need to pay. And trust you me its worth every penny you spend. A must must have.
As far as the ambience is concerned, they have given its a dhaba look.
All in all a worth trying restaurant. Would love to go again. But what makes me think twice is the distance from Thane to Oshiwara.
Apart from that no complaints whatsoever.
Cheers.
