A very very sincere request to all people reading this. Do not watch this movie in front of your folks. It will be extremely embarassing. As a matter of fact, it would be better if you do not watch it at all. I know...I know, we've all been through this vulgar bit in hindi movies, scores of times. Whats so new here. Well...listen to this.
Sayaji Shinde ( villian in SHOOL ) is Shweta Menon's hubbie. Doesn't have a job and so stays with his in-laws 'n is a drunkard. Now, theres a scene where everyone is sleeping in the same room ( the couple, and the in-laws ). He suddenly, wants to start doin it. Menon objects to this and what does he do ?? He gets up and creates a scene, complete with all the standard hindiadjectives. The poor parents calm him down and tell him that they'll get out of the house, so they can continue.
Now...please do not try to convince me that anyone'll be able to watch this movie with their folks...without twitching. That done...theres more to come. You have a very very careless and deliberate use of various curse words throughout the movie, even at absolutely uneccessary places. You willl find a particular dialogue where the actor ( the guy in Monsoon Wedding ) is talking to Aman Verma. He starts every single line with a cuss word.
The saving grace of this movie is that there are places of some very inspirational comedy. Also, a satirical view of the hindi films is something new to watch. The final scene of the movie is such an example.
Mahesh Manjrekar has an extremely itty bitty role, but he does it very well. In fact, I liked his performance the best in the movie. The host of actresses really are just a decoration. Raveena is the only one who actually has any role in the movie. Aman Verma is the hero and he really does make an extremely sincere effort. And the worst(and only) cuss word he uses in the movie is...Bloody Shit. All the other side actors are a mix of decent acting and extreme hamming. There are no songs in the movie...only one right at the end. The intro for that song is really amusing !! Watch out for that.
All in all, not, a movie worth watching. You might wanna cut only the comedy dialogues and watch them instead. but, frankly...skip the movie. And, don't take your BF/GF to the theatre to watch it either.
