SUMMARY: It is run by ITC -Welcom Heritage Group, about 45 KM from Hyderabad, has a lot of greenery(trees) and boasts of water sports; it is mediocre in maintenance and very very expensive for what it offers.
Certainly there are many ways of spending money and time in and around Hyderabad. A tedious 45 KM long Drive on urban/ rural roads, a long wait for an expensive lunch and sight of dried up "water sport areas", lawns and a stinking pool by the side of your restaurant are not the ones on which you would like to spend your time especially when you get charged king size for nominal amenities
The reception itself is pretty mediocre with no AC and with pretty slow front office staff. Then they asked us to have lunch before our room was ready( 12-00 check-in / check out is Good) and then you start realizing your folly.
The ill ventilated restaurant(poor AC circulation) ensures you have the stink of veg, non-veg foods and alcohol forcing itself into your nostrils. After a half an our wait you some how find a table with the table cleaning taking 30 Mts, 30 Mts for order taking and 30 Mts for service.
The food in the Buffet costs you a whopping 350/- per head, so we chose the restaurant. The Veg food is OK but Mama Dhaba, near St Ann's school, Sec'bad gives you better food at one fouth the price. Right, I accept that they are not comparable.
The Childen's sports area has minimal sports facilities like swings and slides that you can find in any small town muncipal park. The facilities are dry, worn out and wear a "used" look. The golf carts can be seen all parked, being used only for Staff movement though they are meant for Guests.
The Swimming Pool is full of Colored water with hundreds taking dip as if it is river Ganga. The lakes and "lagoons" have no water and water sports are closed(but you get charged full Tariff and you are not told about this). Yes there is a lot of greenery in the form of Trees. But the lawns and flowering plants are dry or dead.
Only saving grace is the good standard of the Guest Rooms; we stayed in an Executive room as that was the only one available. Even here the toilet fittings are unpolished and You donot get hot water "because it is Summer". The highly advertised WiFi signal is too weak for use even in "executive rooms".
The room service is just OK. The Buffet break fast again serves you "cold Milk", cold Idlis and virtually no North Indian items like parathas. No item is replinished after it is exhausted, if it is finished, thats all.
It is surprising that a Resort run by "professional" ITC-Welcom Heritage Group should be so substandard for the exorbitant charges it collects.
If you had planned a stay here(esp in summer) and could not some how make it, thank God for saving your time, money and gasolene.
