According to wiktionary.com, surfers often use this term for a location where a wave breaks as it hits a point of land. And that is where the title of the movie comes from. Point Break is a movie directed by Ericson Core, starring Luke Bracey, Edgar Ramirez and Teresa Palmer. Bracey essays the role of a Johnny Utah, a FBI agent, Ramirez plays the role of Bodhi. Utah has been investigating a series of heists and his research leads him to beleivve that the heists are committed by surfers. Following that hunch, Utah, who is an ex-surfer(unlike the original film) gets into contact with Bodhi and his group. From there on Utah embarks on a journey full of adrenaline pumping activities. Jumping from a plane, climbing peaks, detonating bombs, chasing scenes through snow mountains, this movie is full of all such scenes. I wouldn't lie, those scenes were thrilling and mainly they were the only thing worth watching.

Even if I don't compare this remake to the original, even then the movie is nothing but a one-time watch. The casting was the main flaw, somehow none of the actors seemed genuine. There was absolutely no chemistry between the main characters. In the original Point Break, the bromance/chemistry between Utah(played by Reeves) and Bodhi(played by Swayze) was one of the best things about the movie. Bracey's acting fell flat at most times and Ramirez was terrible selection to play the epic character of Bodhi, even the scenes where Bodhi banters failed to strike a chord. Things that made 1991 Point Break a cult movie were missing from this one. For Cinematography and action sequences I'd give this movie a four star but issues like lack of chemistry, basically no story line cannot be ignored.

For me, it is just a one-time watch, not remotely as good as the original flick was.
