- With the NFL season at its peak – and two more weeks to go for the playoffs – my Sunday dinner is always a pizza from Pizza Hut. Currently they have some excellent deals to ride on the football excitement. There are already 77 reviews on this topic on MS. I submit before you, review # 78, for whatever it is worth.
What to order ?
* # Crust. * Basically choose between Pan or Thin Crust. There are other variations like New York crust, Stuffed crust etc.
# Toppings. There are several kinds of meat toppings like pepperoni, ham etc. In the vegetarian area there is choice of mushrooms, green peppers (capsicum), jalapenos (hot chillies from Mexico), onions, tomatoes and black olives. In case you have difficulty in deciding, go for the * veggie lover * which contains all of the above.
# Size. Comes in two sizes - either medium or large.
Where to eat ?
# Restaurant. Pizza Hut restaurants have decent size – seating capacity is about 40-50. Both booths and open tables are available.
# Carry Out. Phone in the order, you will get an approximate time for delivery – you go and pick up your order. Typically it is within 15 minutes. Pizza Hut has specialized delivery centers, which only caters to “Carry Outs” and “Delivery” and does not have a restaurant.
# Delivery. Phone your order and the delivery guy brings it piping hot in special thermally protected bags within 30 minutes. Once you are a regular they have your name, phone number and address.
How much does it cost ?
Typically, a medium veggie lovers pizza costs about $8.99 and if you buy a second one you get two for $13.99.
Any Side Orders ?
Besides the pizza, you get a variety of side orders like bread sticks, chicken wings and salad. The salad bar in the restaurant is good.
What to drink?
A Pitcher of beer is my favorite. They only serve Pepsi. If you are a coke fan – sorry.
What is the Competition ?
Pizza Hut’s main competition from fast-food chains are Dominos, Little Ceasar’s, Papa Ginos and Pizza Pizza (in Canada). Or the regular Italian Restaurants, which serve traditional pizzas like Margarita, Napolitana etc.
