Pinterest is a sort of image sharing website where you can upload, view and share images. I came across this site when I was trying to look for ways to promote my blog. In an article that I read it was mentioned that you can'pin' your images to pinterest which could result in increase of traffic to your blog. So I registered here for free and pinned some of my images. There was quite a number of views through pinterest. This is not the only use of this site. I have been using this site for some time now and these are some of the basic words we need to understand while using the site:
A pin is an image. This image can be either uploaded by you or you can also link it from another site that you have been browsing.
A board is the page where all of your pins are located. You can have one or many board under different categories like travel, cooking, art and craft, etc.
If you like some one else's pin you can repin it to your board.
I have a blog of simple art and crafts for kids. Using a pinterest widget I pin my images on pinterest and I am also able to get inspired by seeing others creations. I mainly use the site to promote my blog or look for ideas for my daughters school projects and also search recipes.
The site loads very fast and once you get the hang of it you cannot stop pinning.
