I bought Pigeon's Electric kettle from Hypercity , Madhapur Hyderabad on April 1, 2015. I had used it for just four months that it stopped working in July.
I called the customer service number on Pigeon's website.And they gave me a contact number of one Nagesh.Nagesh told me that the nearest service centre was in Amberpet which is about 23 kms from my house.When I asked him to come and pick up the defective piece since it was too far to go , he refused stating that company policy did not allow pick up of items below 2000 rupees.
I told him that this was not regular repair but a defective piece. He still refused to pick it up. Instead he gave me the number of one Mallesh at Ambarpet. When i called Mallesh he said that Nagesh was the person I should speak to and not him!
And all this inconvenience despite having the bill and a warranty card which promises repair and replacement for upto one year after purchase.
So I called customer service and lodged a complaint.They sent back an immediate response stating that someone will look into it. That was seven days ago.I am so frustrated with Pigeon for selling a defective piece and more than that the lack of response from customer service.
I regret buying the product and will definitely never buy it again.
