This is one rare Review wherein I have vented my frustration.
Extremely disappointed with this Phillips water purifier.
We have to pay an exhorbitant recurring cost of Rs.675/- (575/- plus 100/- for the visiting technician) to replace the filter every 2 months.
Why the additional 100/- to a technician ?
Because the replacement Filter needs to be ordered from their Authorised Service Centre in Goregaon. It is not easily available in our neighbourhood now where we bought this Product from either i.e. CROMA one of the largest Consumer Products Retailer.
Why every 2 months ?
Because the filter refuses to dispense water after their stipulated 3000 litres. This filter cannot be washed clean nor can it be re-used.It simply needs to be replaced. And the basic job of this filter is to filter out suspended impurities - only after this does it move ahead to the UV Ray container for further purification.
How do we know that 3000 litres of Pure Water have been dispensed ?
We will just have to trust their technology - There is no way that we can sit and measure out 3000 litres - maybe they have some electronic time recorder or maybe like our usually faulty Municipal Corporation Water Meters - we will simply have to just accept their BILL and pay up.
