THIS REV IS ABT THE PHILISHAVE HQ 6605 SERIES & NOT THE HQ 6425 SERIES...COZ THERES NO SECTION FOR THE 6605.
Waah Mehul babu...naya tshirt, nayee pant, nayee shave...kya baat hai...mach 3 kitne baar use karte ho, ha??
Words like these & many..greet me as I step out of the house. Things like cool new clothes, shoes go noticed & so do 'super' shaven men(or is it the flipside...neways!!). But the secret of my close shave isn't a mach 3 or a better gel...its the Philishave HQ 6605 series, that I got for 3800 bucks(manageable..).
So..first, lemme start analyzing the main cost & effect of shaving in our country. Everyone wants a feel good-to-do good attitude right?? and, when it comes 2 personal grooming for men, shaving is of prime importance...but in our country where there are so many resource conscious people(like me!!), shaving with non-stop running water, pricks & thats y at times, getting the best out of a mach 3 isnt possible( if u become 2 water conscious or just enjoy the triple blade gliding over ur face again & again !!). So... electric & portable shavers are the best option or else, theres always the barber who sits under the tree & charges just 5 bucks for a shave ...!!
Dry shaving is a modern idea, with the advent of electric shavers in the 80's by Panasonic, National & largely- Philips. The idea was coupled with the fact keeping in mind the pacy times when men started to lose out good time for keeping a close shave. Remember..Tendulkar advertising for Philishave in 94-95?? Thats when the real craze of dry shaving began as more & more people became cognizant of the fact that y their star players, actors or...appear so well shaven, often?? Do they have that 'time' for a good shave, as they r constantly on the move?? I still remember the latest Aussie tour to The Windies...where in the pavilion Andy Bichel sat comfortably, enjoying the match & most of all...shaving side-by-side(was a Philishave cool skin series one) without the fuss of holding a mirror!!
The answer is electric shaving & believe me...this is definitely a very very good innovation( that atleast saves imp.water!!) & also that it doesnt require a mirror at all..once u know the flow of beard on ur face.
Enough of an intro..lemme get back to the product. Philips has innovated this 6605 series with a super reflex system, equipped with unique lift & cut blades that really give u an 'Easyshave'. The series is an upgrade to the earlier 4-5k series. The most imp.thing that strikes u when hold the 6605 is the weight & its ultra s-l-e-e-e-k design that impresses first up.. The system is triple blade & each razor is an individually floating head. It follows a contour shaving system...means, the blades just glide over the tougher areas of the face like the jawline or the lower portion of the neck with gr8 ease & give a close shave as they flex accordingly...
The first time I had a shave, I faced a problem setting the directions right, since this is totally different from wet shaving. So, Philips recommends moving the shaver over the face with both straight & circular movements. Such movements, coz this puts the 'lift & cut' technology into gr8 effect & for effects to be visible,Philips allots a 2-3 weeks time for the contours to get adjusted to ur face type. A normal shaving session lasts for 30 mins & an initial charge up requires a whopping 16 hrs & after that...8 hrs (after a shave). Now thats the only cons, because 8 hrs is too long for a small device like a shaver. But when I saw other brands like for eg, National too asking for a 8 hrs recharge time, its perfectly fine.
The best thing about the 6605 are the auto adjusting triple blades & they bend & flex according to the face structure & I feel they r well-equipped to handle the toughest face structures in the world. Its been quite a while since I got the product & now it has perfectly adjusted to my face shape & resorting to daily shaving has become a delight with this gizmo. But...wet shaving will always remain different than dry shaving, but if used well...dry shaving is comparable with wet shaving.
Also, the 6605 is equipped with a pop-up moustache & sidelock trimmer, on the back. The trimmer is very effective in givin the stylish locks u dreamt of & this is truly a worthy add-on device. I have always had a prob of shaping the locks while shaving, but with the 6605, it all got 'in shape!!'
Philips gives u a 2 yr warranty on the 6605 & make sure ur pack contains a charger, a pouch & a cleaning brush along with a blade cap. The shaver needs to be cleaned every fortnight( I do it after every shave or else the small hair prevent fast spinning of the razor heads) For easy & optimal cleaning without the brush, the Philishave action clean( shaving head cleaner, HQ100) is available & theres no dearth of Philishave dealers in Mumbai & India too..
Philips recommends replacing the shaving heads every 2 years for keeping up the optimum shaving output.
So...all-in-all, whether u r travelling & hate to shave with the train water..or when u r in a damn hurry & have no time for a shave, then this thing is the right choice for u & dont at all get hooked by the price coz I have seen Marwaris buying this gizmo in front of me....y cant we??
This is a fully rechargeable, portable shaver which u can carry along wherever u feel like( I shave twice in 1/2 hr with the mach 3..so the 6605 is more than enough for me..) Also that wet shaving requires a mirror..this thing doesn't.
For keeping a good shaven skin, mix ur dry shaving schedule with wet shaving for 5 days & wet: once or accordingly & give time for visible effects to be seen...
Philips gives this a single star rating for luxury, but for beginners like me, its recommended...also for those of u who wanna look smart & smooooth plus a range of attractive colours its available in, to suit individual personalities & tastes.
Philips has also launched the 'Cool skin series' & 'Sensotec' series & as shall standards in personal grooming increase( the models are more or less available in India), I shall definitely go for them. I cant write more, coz theres nothing left in the bank, abt this...
So..HAPPY SHAVING & after shave...apply ur generous comments to this rev for a close & ever-comfortable feeling...!!
Once again..cheers,
