Anyone who watched Steven Spielberg's film Munich, will promptly identify Phantom as a poor imitation of the classic thriller. Like the protagonist Avner Kaufman in Munich, Daniyal Khan acts as a covert operative who carries out the retribution on the behalf of his country.
Even the role of Louis(played by Matthew Alamric), the informant, has been copied by Katrina, albeit without much impact(blame her non-existent acting skills).
The least that Bollywood filmmakers can do is to come with some original ideas. Else, they should stick to the romantic stuff, which is at least original and more enjoyable. In this age of cable TV, high speed broadband and cheap pirated DVDs, almost any film lover will promptly make the comparison between the original idea and the imitation, and be thoroughly disappointed.
