“There is no love sincerer than the love of food.” - George Bernard Shaw
If you are in Park Street and if u have not visited Peter Cat, then there is something in life that you have missed. Lets get the logistics for availability first. Peter Cat is one of the few restaurants in town to have people waiting outside all year round. The vast popularity of this restaurant contributes to this. But let me tell u "It's worth the wait". So if you want to have lunch then reach by 1:00 P.M. and if you want to have dinner, reach by 8:00 P.M. Anything after this might make you wait.
After you are seated you will be greeted with waiters in Afghani Suits. A menu card would be handed over to you in the form of a cat face along with another menu for drinks. The ambiance is awesome with personalized lamps for each table. The decor would make you feel as if you are in an old heritage building. The place is neat and clean. There are two floors in this restaurant. Service is also good with food being served within 15 minutes of your order.
Now coming over to the food section. There are a lot of appetizers, my personal favourite is the "Prawn Cocktail". This dish is actually made with boiled prawns dipped into mayo and sauce. For the main course you should definitely opt for their signature dish, the Chelo Kebab. This is available in two variants, the chicken and the mutton chelo. You can also try out the different kind of sizzlers that are available. For the deserts, well the options are limited, but yes I would recommend finishing off with a dash of your favourite flavoured ice cream.
There are also a variety of liquor brands available. They also have some cocktails named in an innovative way.
Bottomline is you should try this restaurant out if you are in Kolkata and you will not be disappointed. Till then eat, drink and be merry.
