Built with grandeur, this restaurant offers the unique experience of dinning in the middle ages with an ambience that no other restaurant in chennai can match. The attention to detail is so good that you can't help notice the slated floor, log tables, cutlery and paintings as you wait to be served (and the continue to wait and wait..)
The choice is very limited but the quality of the food is exceptional.. Everything we had from Murgh malai kababs to panner sheeks (we ordered for kastoori kababs and lamb sheeks) was exceptionally good and we felt no reason to complain (other than the fact that a few dishes were missed). The jalzeera masala paani was just as delicious. But it would be more than reasonable to expect this, given the pricing.. Rs. 650 for a chicken dish and Rs. 450 for something vegetarian, Rice 375 to 450 for a bowl of biryani.. Rs. 125 for a glass of Jalzeera and so on.
The restaurant is a major let down in the fact that the service is so poor and grossly inefficient that you are neither served properly or served the order inspite the fact that the menu is limited to 20 odd items including starters, main course and dessert.
It is when you are billed that you realise that whatever you had ordered for has been billed for whilst you have been served something else.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant as you end up paying many times over than what you get (or don't get). There are ones such as the Kabul and Minar that can nearly match the ambience and quality but with much much better customer service and value.
