Ah, nightlife in bangalore, my pet hate....a plastic teenage haven of gloss and wannabe cool. In contrast to this, Pecos is perhaps a tribute to the old bangalore spirit when people knew what good music and conversation was all about.
So what if its not flashy and govinda-esque, there is a certain charm in being able to go to a pub and be yourself, without leering guys in pants that are too tight and over lip glossed women, insecure eyes darting around the room frantically.
The beer isn't that bad, i've had worse, but its not really about the booze anyway, is it? The whole idea of a pub is to soak in some ambience and chill with friends..otherwise you could just raid your dad's liquor cabinet. and pecos has plenty of ambience and friendly people who always share their birthday cake...
the food is actually quite good; may I recommend the chilly beef...
and when you're done, you can swagger out boldly, have a cup of coffee from a machine at the phone booth directly opposite and spend all the money you saved on such a delightfully economical hang out by calling everyone you know and drunkenly hollering down the receiver, thats always fun, yeah.
i mean, come on people, why does having fun have to involve a supposedly trendy and pleasant smelling den of poker faced fakes in sore need of laxatives.
let the spirit of old bangalore take you over....rock on.....
