Ben Affleck seems to have got it all wrong this year. Personally I like Affleck though he isn’t a great actor but even then I could not appreciate this movie. Coming from John Woo I did expect a lot of action but it was just a little too much to bear. Action is fine if its incorporated into the story but if its put there just for the sake of putting it, it becomes boring. Another flaw with the movie is complete waste of Uma Thurman, with all the praise she got for Kill Bill I seriously wonder why did she do this movie at all?
The story is about and engineer (Ben Affleck) who routinely does confidential jobs for a huge paycheck, the catch is that his memory for the time when he was on the job has to be erased. He does a job for which he is supposed to get a 8 figure paycheck but only to realize that not only has he not got any money for the job, but the FBI is chasing him for doing something he doesn’t remember doing. Now all he has with him is an envelope with 20 clues and bits and pieces of flash backs to find out what is going one.
The story has serious logical errors and action scenes just keep popping up now and then for no reason. The movie looses its grip as soon as Ben Affleck knows he has been conned though it should have been the other way round. The way he traces back his steps should have been the most interesting part.
You will mainly see a lot of Affleck and as he cant act well that’s not a good enough reason to see it. As I said earlier Uma Thurman is wasted. Watch this movie only if you have nothing better to do and some extra money to blow away. I would suggest don’t waste your time
