In my opinion, Paramount is not only the worst TPA(Third-Party Administrator) in India but also among the worst globally. Two years ago, my cousin took an SBI Arogya Plus health policy. At that time, he was in good health, but six months later, he had a heart attack. Since he was admitted to a non-network hospital, we had to inform Paramount about the hospitalization. Paramount TPA, however, seemed focused solely on saving their own costs and would go to any extent to do so.
After submitting all the necessary documents, a female doctor from Paramount came to our home. She sweet-talked my cousin and his wife, taking detailed notes on any prior treatments he might have had. She then visited our family doctor, speaking very politely with him as well. Eventually, she persuaded our doctor to write that my cousin had a history of hypertension. She convinced him by falsely promising that the claim would only be approved if he noted a pre-existing condition; otherwise, my cousin would lose his claim entirely. Reluctantly, the doctor complied. Following this, Paramount rejected my cousin’s claim. When we called the same female doctor to question this decision, she rudely dismissed us, insisting that she only did as instructed and told us not to contact her again.
A similar experience occurred with a friend of mine. He was admitted to a non-network hospital, and one day, Paramount sent a team of three or four people to his home. They questioned him and his mother in separate rooms as though conducting an interrogation. They even checked his Google Maps history to confirm if he was truly at the hospital during the mentioned dates.
In my experience, Paramount TPA is extremely untrustworthy and will take any means necessary, even criminal tactics, to save their own money. I strongly advise anyone considering Paramount TPA to think a thousand times before opting for them.
