= This review is of the restaurant located in the Begumpet area=
During our recent holiday visit to Hyderabad, we visited this restaurant twice because of the high recommendation from many, especially reviews. Here are my two cents about this restaurant.
Where is it located? Quite centrally in the prime area of Begumpet (called Shyamlaal), right on the Main Road, Next to Pantaloons store.
How is the place/Ambiance? This is a 3-storey building, the restaurant is on the 3rd floor and the ground floor houses a takeaway counter. Ambiance in general is pleasing with good seating arrangements, lighting etc.
Service is also good, waiters are always on their toes taking care of you. Exception was one who answered rudely to all our queries - not sure, if he did that because we were tourists visiting them.
AC was not effective - we brought this to their notice.
There was another weird issue we faced (not really sure how and why it happened) - the tables had some sort of light vibration, so if you touch one end of your hand on it and the other at your head/chin, one could feel the vibrations. We brought this weird thing to their notice and even changed tables twice, however it was the same everywhere. May be there were fans attached on to the ground for the 2nd floor - I really am not sure.
What about Food? The USP of this place is the quality Hyderabadi Biryani. We had 2 dinners here, since on the first day we were Vegetarian, we tried some Paneer dishes along with Veg Biryani. On the next day, we ordered their famous Chicken Biryani, Butter Chicken and a Kabab platter.
Veg Biryani was not up-to the mark, but we gave it a miss considering Chicken Biryani would be nicer, however we were not impressed with the quality even on the second night. The only good part was Chicken was well cooked. Quantity they said is for 1 person, but we found it's lot - much more than enough for 2 people. Taste of other dishes was good.
What are the prices? Expensive! Food bill for 2 families with 4 Adults and 2 kids about 5 years cost us 2000+. Chicken Biryani is about 240 (without taxes).
For desserts we had, Double ka Meetha (Bread pudding dessert with a hint of saffron and cardamom and Qubani ka Meetha (Authentic Hyderabadi sweet with stewed apricots) - we did not like both, much.
Other options were: Gulab Jamun, Gajar Ka Halwa, Caramel Custard, Chocolate Brownie, Pot Kulfi, Ice Creams.
Final verdict? If you are in HYD, you may try this place for one meal, may be you will like it but we were not impressed. We also shared our feedback with them.
By the way, this place has chain of restaurants in other places like: Bengaluru, Chennai, Visakhapatnam.
