After the Uno and the Siena, the engineers at Fiat have outdone themselves with their latest offering – the Fiat Palio.
The Palio was introduced in the mid-size car segment informing the Santro, the Indica and the Matiz that the competition was far from over. This car has everything you’d be looking for from a car of its likes: a craftily slanted front, a beautifully sexy compact design complemented with matching body-colored side skirts and bumpers.
The unique headlights were created to reduce air drag and the grill encompassing the front headlamps provides an overall meaty look to the car.
The Palio comes with a 1.2 litre and a 1.6 litre engine specification that can propel it from 0 to 60 in less than 7 seconds. And an additional fifth gear lets you race up and out of the traffic.
Fiat puts safety first with a whole lot of new features including a third brake light and a child lock. You can also have a rear window heater but most of these features come as part of standard equipment.
The Palio shines in several new colors, but the ones that impressed me the most were the Starlight blue, the Imola red and the awesome field green that makes you stand out from the crowd. And as the Palio advertisement says: “Power. Performance. Features. Safety. Comfort. To the max.”
The Palio also provides a smooth ride due to independent suspension and the road handling of this car is quite good. And it’s available in petrol too.
In fact, the Palio has the size of an Indica and the price tag of a Santro,
So naturally since everyone has a Santro these days, I’d say that this car is worth checking out.
