After Sacred Games, this was one of those Indian TV Series that caught a lot of publicity. I was forced to see this after every other person praising it in their social media stories.
I'm this review I will not give out the spoilers as people are yet to watch it. I will be giving the glimpse of the story and moreover, what I thought about it.
Summary/Plot: Story of a high profile shootout gone wrong against the famous TV News Reader. Goons were arrested and in any normal movie or series, we're like that's it, isn't it? But no, that's where the story starts. The series is giving the back story of all its prominent characters in each episode. In the end, we all realize, it is not what we see that's the truth.
Characters: Jaideep Ahlawat, the Gangs of Wasseypur actor was a wise choice by the Team of Paatal Lok. He played the role of the police who was given this high profile case thinking he will ruin it as he isn't that good of a police. In the series though he went out of his way to reveal the whole truth.
Neeraj Kabi, the Talvar actor was the 'target' in this show for the goons but was saved due to circumstances you'll know once you see the show.
There were other prominent characters in the show including the Bengali star Swastika Mukherjee, the theater and Bollywood actors like Abhishek Banerjee, Gul Panag, Vipin Sharma, Rajesh Sharma etc. Out of all the actors, the only one who I thought was out of character was Gul Panag. Don't get me wrong here, she is an extremely talented actor but in this show the role given to her didn't do justice to her. They could have actually casted Rasika Duggal for the role of Renu Choudhary.
My take on the show: the series is really good but it is a one time see. I felt the show got exciting only after the episode 3.
Tip: Watch this show at least once as the suspense will apall you in the end and you'll be like 'WHAT IN THE HELL HAPPENED! ' And for that feeling I have given it a 4 star.
