Hi,
We booked Oyo room in Ooty with ID - IDZW1439 for April 19th-20th.
I actually booked before 10days as there will be too much crowd at this time and not to take chance at last moment.
The booking was confirmed.
Before a day they called us from Oyo saying, there is some property issue and owner is not acceptable to provide room and asked us to change room, also we saw it was not any other property, it was completely taken care of Oyo only.
Before 1day how come we can change. Instead, they should not have accepted our booking at all. I said I can't sit and do the search again for rooms and also there were no rooms available at all in other hotels also.
I denied saying we can't change, please give us the same room. The representative said ok will get back to us after 2hrs.
But we didn't get any calls later. I only called Oyo customer care and explained the above things, they said there is no issue. The booking is done already and accepted.
Later sometime again we got some message on the phone saying the same. There is property issue, change the room.
I again called Oyo to confirm, they said please ignore the alerts, the booking is already accepted.
Later in the morning when we reached Ooty, I called Oyo saying I will be checking-in in the evening 6 pm instead of 12 pm, they confirmed after 12 anytime you can check in, the room is confirmed for us. I said ok.
When I reached Oyo in the evening, the manager said there are no rooms all the rooms are full, I said see already my booking is confirmed also I have checked 3 times with Oyo and they have confirmed my booking. But still he was telling same - I am just a manager and allocate a room who comes first.
I asked how come booking was confirmed if there were rooms?
He was helpless, I called Oyo and informed about the situation - they kept me on hold and started checking internally, but they never called manager for the confirmation.
We almost waited for 2 hours and pissed off.
Then when I called back to them, they said there are rooms available and they will refund the amount straight away.
That day the whole Ooty city was fully crowded and not even a single room was available. I was requesting the Oyo representative over the call to find room somewhere in Ooty and he was helpless. I was with my wife and I only knew what was the difficulty we faced that night without room, we went to the bus stand and we slept there because of this junk Oyo.
This is one of the worst experience I ever had in my life, I will never suggest my friends/family and ppl who read this to book Oyo rooms on your holiday times, it may end up with disappointment.
