OBC, a Private Bank which helped me in these Days. Review on Oriental Bank of Commerce

I have opened an savings account with Oriental Bank of Commerce few years back( 2011) . I opted this bank because I was in hurry opening the account as soon as possible and bank allowed me to come with very less initial deposit. It is only two hundred rupees that time( which remain in your account) . Since other banks having some high initial deposit I have choosen Obc. It provided with only debit card and with no internet banking with it. After couple of years when I have requested cheque book they made me to deposit 1000/- Rs and also activated NEFT transfer with it. They took few days of time to provide me a cheque book . I have requested them   for correction of name on the pass book as it is not matching with the proof for transfer of NEFT and however done with it.

Pros: You can have private bank services with resonable amount to initial deposit and you find no rush in the banks helps you complete your deposit, withdraw, and other services in few minutes of time. The staff is ok treating their customers and wouldn't say bad . Cheques can be cleared within reasonable two to three working days. However some large commercial private banks allows you instant clearance of cheque . As in present their is denomination issue the bank services in Obc are highly appreciated. They allowed their existence customers to withdraw 20, 000/- Rs in one day sometimes and helped customers in some aspects, I have not seen in every other bank in do ing this . We all of us have came cross some worst experience with these bank services these days .So still I thank Obc for this issue. I have called  customer service and they provided with the information of my account after conforming all the details .

Cons: In the initial when I was not able to maintain proper balance( less than 200) they used to impose high charges. After I deposit cash they deduct about some hundreds which I felt bad. They completely locked my 1000/- Rs initial deposit and now I am not even able to withdraw it in emergency( can be returned after you completely cancel your account with them. You find less Obc Atm centers  in hyderabad. However you can adjust if you can maintain less Atm withdrawls per month. The staff sometimes are not ok with their behaviour towards customers. Few times I have  faced swiping issues of not reading the card in shopping malls recently. I have not used my phone banking and rare using of internet banking with Obc. The app which they came with android has found not having good reviews and its the interface of app need to have changes in developing the app.

I only recommend this bank services if you are not going to use the account very much.  Better to have an extra bank account even if you are using some other bank services.
