Wish I could give - 5 (minus 5) star. My mother was admitted here three times in the last 4 years, in 2020, 2021 and recently on 30th Oct'2023, so I felt it's imperative to write a long review for hospital and upcoming patients. While my mother is no more (She took last breath on 07.11.23), I am writing it with very compassion and pain about the services rendered by Orchid Hospital Ranchi during the treatment period. My writing is no way to demean or defame the hospital but I hope the hospital takes it positively and improves the services for the patients who come to them for treatment.
1. I brought my mother in an emergency (She was feeling restless) at approx 10:30 PM on 30.10.2023 but unfortunately nobody cared for her in the emergency ward for 1.5 hours despite our requests and patients restless conditions. After much persuasion, the emergency doctor saw her at 12:00 AM and Suggested to shift her in NCU under Dr M. K. Bhadani (Dr Bhadani is her regular follow up doctor). So if you are coming in an emergency condition, specially at night, don't expect immediately care as for them it's a regular and normal case.
2. While admitting my mother in the hospital, she was feeling restless but her all the vitals were normal. What made her condition's deteriorate like anything, whether it was medication or poor treatment, I am not very sure and not competent to question, so can't comment on it. But one thing that I deeply observed and felt that there was no co-ordination between two doctors. While I have not complaints against Dr Bhadani as we are visiting his clinic from last 3 years but the other doctors Dr Kumar Saurabh, Neurologist seems to be very disoriented. I saw Dr Kumar, staring at mobile most of the time (even when we went to meet him in his chamber)...not sure whether he keeps himself busy in social media or plays online games during the time when he should concentrate on treatment of patients. He has one common line to say most of the time 'there is no neurological improvement in the patients '. When we asked him that Dr Bhadani suggested a new antibiotic injection, he said he has no idea (Even after seeing the medical file of my patient in ICU). This type of lacuna & ignorance I observed at multiple times.
3. The medicine delivery to ICU from Hospital Medical Shop takes more than 2-3 hours. Any patient admitted in ICU deserves utmost care & medicine, but for the hospital & staffs, it's not that much important.
4. Hospital nurses are least bothered for patient's care. Yes, I observed their sheer negligence in ICU. Few automated BP injection were adviced to my mother but many times during patient's visit hours, we found the medicine in the syringe was already exhausted and only after reminding to the nursing staffs/duty doctors, the new cartridge was placed. This happened multiple times during 7 days. The hospital has kept adequate no of nurses in ICU but their services are full of ignorance.
5. On 4.11.23 around 11:30 PM, the doctor asked us to arrange 2 units plazma and 2 units of Blood on immediate basis. He directed us to collect the requisition slip from the Reception counter. He said within 5-10 minutes they would give the slip. We immediately rushed to the Reception counter, but the person sitting at reception 'Mr Pawan Kumar' said rudely that 'Doctor ko kuchh pata rahta hai kya, 1:30 ghante lagenge slip banane me'. This guy, literally, has no sense of manners to speak with the attendant. You will find many complaints against this guy in the review but unfortunately 'Orchid Hospital ' least bothered to take action against this person. After much persuasions, he made slip and went to 7th Floor for taking stamp. The hospital can't have stamp at reception?? This shows the poor management of the Hospital.
6. You will find a complaint box in the hospital premises, but unfortunately the boxes are never ever opened by the hospital management. This shows their audacity and ignorance towards serving patients. During one evening one beurocrate visited in the OPD of the hospital, he was given appointment for 5 PM but unfortunately doctor didn't turn up even at 8 PM. On his instructions, when the complaint box was opened, it was revealed that the box was totally filled with complaint letters. So they hardly care about the complaint you put in the 'complaint box'.
This hospital only knows how to mint money from patients even at the cost of the life of patients. Their main focus is how to snatch money from your account to exhaust your health insurance amount. Their services have worsened from good in the last 4 years and most importantly nobody is interested to improve it.
You will see many positive reviews but I am damn sure barring few, most of reviews are either paid reviews or given by their own employees or stakeholders.
