Britney Spears! A teen sensation who has a large following of preadolescent girls and boys screaming for her songs. She has fallen for her own hype and is being molded into superstar not based solely on her talent but more so on her sexuality. I'ver hear Miss Spears in concert by chance when she was just starting out and I have to admit she was a decent singer and had a respectable show. Then stardom struck and she burst on the scene...big time!
With the release Of Oops!...I did It Again, things changed dramatically. Her little girl image transformed into a highly provocative sexual woman. Although she is still just a teen the music industry has turned her into a sleazy second rate artist. Listen to the disc and you see her talent has been wasted on mediocre songs. Yet what troubles me more and what I have seen in other reviews is what is this teaching our children. Did Britney have her breasts augmented? I don't know but indeed they are being exploited with her ever decreasing costumes. It seems she and Jennifer Lopez are competing for the opportunity to perform in a g string and tassles!
The sexuality she exhibits is not healthy. I have noticed young girls trying to emulate her in dress and actions and it is frankly disgusting! Her actions are teaching our boys to see women as sexual objects. In a time where women have gained equality of sorts are we going to go back as viewing women as body parts?
Britney is a product of the music industry. Sex sells and they capitalize on her body. There is a big difference between sensuality and sleaze. She is sleaze! As she grows in her stardom, she has demonstrated vulgarity in dress and language. (For those in India, Britney recently was caught yelling vulgarities at a concert that would make a sailor blush!) Is that what you want your preteen exposed to?
