I generally use Ola Cabs for my travel needs and I have used Ola Share previously(i mean before demonetisation). At that time we have pay in Ola Share in cash and Ola money was not deducted. But during the demonetisation, Ola Share was also moved to cashless'silently' without any intimation to the users.
During demonetisation period I took Ola Minis and Micros to ride and paid by topping up Ola Money. After a few days when demonetisation was over a cash was freely available I took a ride in Ola Share. At this time Minis or Micros are not available.
So, I was unaware of Ola Share's movement from cash to cashless and I was ready to pay the money. During my trip I checked Ola Money only to realise that it has'Nil' balance.I was to catch a bus so I did not think much about it at that and paid the driver in cash.
A few hours later, when I was free, I realised that I must have some balance in Ola Money and checked to find out where I spent my money. To my surprise I realised that Ola Money was deducted to pay for my trip for which I paid cash.
I thought how could I be so stupid to pay cash when I actually did not need pay even a single paise. I then realised that Ola Money was deducted without any notification of the fact and immediately on booking the Ola Share.
So, I immediately visited the support page only to find that they are PROUDLY displaying a banner saying "OLA MONEY DEDUCTED AND ALSO CASH PAID" by which I am pretty sure that they have received so many complaints like this.
I dropped a mail to support team telling the same and just received a templated reply. I did not receive the notification for Ola Money deduction even until now.
So, be careful using Ola Money and make sure of the money you have in Ola Money before booking an Ola.
