I had a return trip to Mumbai in August 2015, so booked OLA Cabs over phone, to take me to the Airport, 2 days before my journey. They sent me a confirmation email as well as SMS to confirm the booking.
Now, a day prior to the proposed journey, I get another SMS from OLA, saying your taxi booking is confirmed for tomorrow. I now notice that the pick up location is wrong.So I ring their Customer Care and explain to them and also inform the correct pick up point for the next day. The chap on the phone confirms to me that he has updated the correct pickup point on his system.
On the journey day, I am ready to catch a flight to Mumbai, and waiting for my cab to turn up, when a cabbie rings me up and says I am waiting for you Sir, where are you?! I am aghast to know, that the cabbie is calling me from the wrong pick up place, which got corrected by me the previous day. I asked him to come to the place where I was waiting.He says he can't come down, as I am far away.I should call Customer service and ask for another cab.I did that, and told Customer Care that I am stuck, send me another taxi ASAP. They said that will be taken care off quickly, and I did not get into a fight on the phone with them, as I was worried that I will miss my flight.
Within seconds literally, another cabbie calls me up and asks where am I located, as he has been assigned and he will come to pick me up.I am delighted to hear that, and tell him my exact location. After 20 mins of frustrating waiting, as I was really getting late, I call up the second cabbie.He asks me to talk to Customer Care, as he has been cancelled!
I am awestruck! By whom, I ask.He has hung up already.So I call Customer Care once again and ask what is going on, and they tell me that both my taxi has been cancelled, and I have to bloody re-book, to avail a cab service by OLA. Did I have anymore time on my hand by then, obviously not!
So I walked out of my home, hailed a black and yellow taxi, and literally rushed to the Airport, vowing that I will never ever ride OLA again.I deleted OLA, Taxiforsure and Uber apps from my smartphone too, for good. In my dictionary, it was really pathetic service by OLA. There are people here and everywhere who have rode OLA, etc more than 100 times or even more. They vouch for OLA, etc for the service they got.
But I have experienced exceptionally lousy and tardy service, and was about to miss my flight. I have donated that Rs 500, I had put in OLA money, to the future well being of OLA. I don't judge anything by other peoples good experience, I judge by my own experience. And in my experience, OLA was simply lousy to say the least
I wish that taxi service like OLA gets shut for good, and the extremely unprofessional staff becomes beggars on the road in future.
I did not get a formal apology or anything from OLA till date as well!
