Since we all already know that OLA Cabs is pretty crap in the following:
No customer Care Phone Number
Cash Payment Fraud
Cancellation Fee Scam
Other
However, the purpose is to compare it with Uber. I would recommend based on my experience wherever possible to use Uber than Ola. Its more professional and global and better service.
- Cancellation Fraud also happens in uber but relatively less.
Why Uber is Better?
you can use the account if you travel outside india.
If you are OCI/NRI, then you can use your uber account and uber payment and wallets like other country credit cards etc on Uber. with Ola, you need a specific indian payment credit card Or bank account to attach Paytm/Phone Pe. In addition, paypal is not allowed in india which works with Uber.
In Uber, your account is attached to the Phone number. So if I login with phone number, I can update my email address easily. Now with Ola, its an issue. It doesn;t allow to login with email address unless it gmail/facebook. If you use any other, then you have to enter phone number. If you enter a new phone number, then a new account is created. If you go to profile with this new phone number and then update the email address, then it doesn;t allow as the email address is already in use. So now its catch 22: you can use the email address to login and update to your new phone number and at the same time if you enter the new phone number, then you cannot update the email address. In general for both Ola and Uber
do not pay with cash to avoid cash fraud scam. Take a screenshot of the booking until the end of the ride to keep an evidence
You call right after the booking to make sure the driver is coming or not. This is to avoid cancellation fee scam and as well as message to driver is he is coming or not and again to avoid cancellation fee scam. Again, evidence is created.
