Hot sun scorching on your back , the luminous globe is overpowering and you almost succumb to its strength. This is a Desert , but there’s no sand but buildings everywhere and for a young man like me (???) I yearn for a pub to quench my thirsty throat , a few drops of that incandescent lighting and those lovely drops of intoxicants which then fill my parched throats and I down it in gasps ….
The desert is Chembur … the place I live , there isn’t a decent pub there for decades … should I dare say light years … Orchid has a pub but its ok , Blend and Brew looks more like a bar than a pub . And then came the breakthrough … my friend then told me about this new place called Oasis placed strategically near the Tata Telecom , neither in Chembur nor in Deonar.
It ended up that two Thirsty souls finally reached Oasis. It was a Saturday night and around 8.30 a tad early I would say but that guaranteed us that we got to seat our backsides on those tall seats. Imagine two Six footers sitting on Bar stools … We looked like Storks !!! .
There was on offer on … You have an Orange Cell connection and you get a drink Free on the one you ordered !!!. Well my Friend settled for Antiquity (Rs 130) with warm water. I am not grown up yet and hate whisky . I was Horny as hell , so I finally decided to have Sex on the Beach ( Rs 120 ) , remember I get one free if I had it once.
Oh it was fun really , the Tall Glass filled with Orange Juice which has just been used to hide the Vodka, Peach Schnappes are thrown in for Good measure. This Drink was as heavenly as the actual act of its Title ( Heh heh !!! ).
The music was heavenly, the DJ exactly knew what was on our minds, it may Backstreet Boys, Sade, Beatles, Elvis or Bryan Adams … he knew which song had to be played and the system in the place …AWESOME.
There are quite a few nibbles you get which are quite ok .. we also tried the Aloo tikki which was …BAD. I didn’t like it , I may better ones at home buddies. Another bird told me the paneer here is good … Fine then next time Paneer here I come with some more Sex on the beach.
Howz the place ? Great !!! , Ambience, Brilliant !!!! , Worth it …You bet … Calling all those Boozards out there… what about a party here Guys !!!
