I am almost a vegetarian now on a special advice from an experienced person. My opinion earlier was that non vegetarians have more choices as far as nutrition and tastes are concerned. I was in search of a eatable which can take on Non vegetarian head on.
I found soya chunks can be a perfect replacement. I found a nicely packaged soya chunk in the form of Ruchi`s Nutrela some six months ago.Today`s MRP is Rs 25 for 200 grams which is sufficient for four servings for a family of three. Now a days when the price of everything including vegetables are skyrocketing, this soya chunk can easily replace the requirement of `sabji` for at least thrice a week.
NUTRITIONAL FACTS(100Gm)
Energy > 336 Kcal
Protein > 54 Gm
fat > less than 1 Gm
Fiber > 3-4 Gm
Calcium > 533 mg
iron > 21.2 mg
carbohydrate > 37 Gm
The pack also gives Comparative Chart which shows that Nutrela has 54% of protein, the nearest rival is Meat with just 22%
The best thing, I like with this Nutrela is that I have many options. I can make `vegetable` using solely this soya chunk, I can mix it in the Pulav as an nutrition and taste booster.
I can add this chunk in almost any regular vegetable like potatoes, beans, maggie etc.
Some of the tasty recipe I tried are Soya Chunk curry, Soya chunks with green peas curry,Soya chunk with spinach, Soya bean Bhaji,Soya Tomato korma. I am yet to try some more interesting Nutrela receipes.
All I need to boil the selected amount of nutrela in water and squeeze the chunks and simply mix it and even increase the volume of the eatable.
Unlike vegetables, it does not have expiry dates.(Though best within one year of manufacture). One can easily store it safe for months together in a sealed container and the taste of the chunks is maintained.
For adding fun, I have uploaded a related video.
I recommend this product strongly for everyone.
