This is the worst movie theatre I've ever been to. It's in Lalbagh; when going to Hazratganj via Parivartan Chowk, there is a 'tiraha' on which you've to take a right turn into a lane from which Lalbagh locality begins. Now this road is called Nawal Kishore Halwasiya Road and on going further ahead you'll reach Lalbagh Crossing.
That's where this cinema is.It is not well-maintained cleanliness wise, the seats are dirty and filthy, it is crowded, the people who come here ( and they are many ) shout slogans and holler while the movie is getting played, sometimes making obscene comments also. The parking lot lies behind the cinema building and is so dirty you wouldn't even want to stand there.Picture and sound quality is okayish.Maybe the cinema is a hit with localites, but it is definitely not for cultured and refined people, people who just don't go to watch a movie for time-pass.
Ticket prices are not high, there is always a throng waiting to get tickets, people shoving and pushing their way to the ticket counter.I had the misfortune of watching 'Holiday' starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha here; the film was pretty good as per Bollywood standards and nicely edited; I could have enjoyed the movie but for the egregious or shockingly bad ambience of the cinema hall.
The rowdy and uncouth hooligans, their frequent obscene comments, people constantly talking loudly among themselves and using their mobile phones for calls- all this happening while the movie was being shown made me want to leave immediately. At one point of time, even a fight was about to break out between some people but was prevented somehow.Just don't go to this horrible place. There are better movie theatres in the city.
