This review is all about my Dusky and Lovely Nokia N70. I am going to write only about the features I normally use. It is an old model of Nokia but good enough for me. Someone gifted me so using it since July 2008. I have not used any cell phone other than Nokia and the only reason for that is its rugged body and software, active service centre of Nokia at various places. Kids are using LG but my wife and I find Nokia much better.
Body
*Nokia N 70, a Black Beauty with a sliding window for the main camera, reasonably big screen, reasonably well spaced buttons, a port for memory card and other usual features. Like all other Nokia phones, N 70 ruggedly designed, built, and capable to withstand shocks(not sledge hammer) and not very heavy.
*Battery
Well that same old battery BL-5C used in N 70. **For me alternate day charging is necessary. I use camera frequently. Charger with small pin in not that convenient because of its non-availability at public places. I have to carry it everywhere.
Memory
The internal memory is 30 MB, with an addition of a 512 MB MMC card.
*OS
*The Nokia updates flaws in the OS frequently. Symbian is is well known for its dependability. I have not yet loaded any additional application and it is giving flawless service. According too my friends, additional applications makes it slow.
Application
The applications are Real One player, Radio, calculator, converter etc. Games are same old one of-course I am not a big gamer so does not make any difference. Additional applications, ringtones may be downloaded from the net.
The real one player is good and sound quality is excellent. This phone supports MP4 playback of-course I have not used it.
N70 supports GPRS and surfing net is at reasonably good speeds of-course depends on the place and network quality. I use it very rarely.
Connectivity with PC is via Bluetooth or USB port.With Nokia PC Suite, one can edit, store, and synchronize mobile phone data with a Microsoft Windows based PC system. PC Suite is user friendly application and very easy to handle.
Camera
Two cameras are there but I use the one at the back … capability 2 MP. I found it quite good even for portrait. I have even tried landscape; not that bad if sun is bright.
Some of the photos attached and some are in my photo gallery with tag N70. The front camera is only of 0.3 mega pixel and it is mainly for making video calls.
Few years back, mobile phone was symbol of high profile life style. Now it is difficult to manage routines without mobile phone. We are so used to it and made ourselves completely dependant. Well, it is required to keep flowing in demanding world. Time has come when we look for mobile with two sim cards. I will prefer that if I come across any good model and of-course form the house of Nokia only.
Overall Nokia N 70 is a good mobile phone.I do not hesitate to recommend this model if someone is looking for a mobile phone with reasonably good camera with all basic applications.
