Okay guys I am not going harp on the technical specs of N-Gage. You can check out ww.N-Gage.com.
Why did I buy the N-Gage?
My Shopping list:
I wanted an MP3 player during my travel.
I wanted a hand game console to kill time when I am travelling or waiting at places.
I wanted a mobile phone as my Samsung R220 has attained eternity
I wanted an portable FM radio which I could carry.
After good research I found that Nokia had invented a beauty(not visually :-)). The N-Gage had my entire shopping list and BONUS...Real Player to watch full length movies.
So I got my N-Gage, what did I do with it?
1. the N-Gage has MMC slot. Let me explain. MMC stands for MeMory Cards. Just how you can store data onto a CD or Floppy, you can store data onto a MMC. Digital cameras use MMC to store pictures. Same way N-Gage has slot for MMC. You can buy use MMC upto 512 MB.
I bought a 128 MMC and loaded it to my N-Gage.
I first used the Nokia AUdio Manager and transferred the MP3s to my N-gage.
Then I loaded the following games:
Doom
SPlinter Cell
Prince of Persia
Pince of Persia - Sands of Time
Sonic
Tomb Raider
and I have around 50 more games waiting.
Also it supports bluetooth which means if your friend has N-Gage connect to bluetooth and start multi player gaming :)...man doesn't this rock?
N-Gage being an Symbian OS phone can be used with games made for Symbian OS and Java. In technical terms: .jar, .blz, and .sis games. You can get these for free from the internet.
Then it has radio which I listen frequently and the STEREO is EXCELLENT. The MP3 player has amazing BASS and comes with around 6 preset equilizers. I just can't stop listening songs:
Movies:
I downloaded the movie maker form Nokia and gues what could do. I have Shrek the complete movie in my N-Gage. Its just 55 MB which means I still have 70 MB for songs and games. Man this is amazing.
Apart from these it has loads of software available in the Symbian Market just Explorer etc.
The look is little odd but EXCELLENT for Gaming as you cna both your hands...
Battery is good and display is superb. Overall I didn't negative points that worry you bu there are some usability flaws.
When the phone is locked and you are playing MP3 you can reduce the volume which is irritating
The reception is GREAT.
All in all N-GAGE ROCKS
