The first look at this phone may remind you of Adnan Sami but a closer look may change that impression.
A unique style. Open the flap and a full QWERTY keyboard opens up(the screen being placed in the middle..two sets of keys on the left and right of it)...press the button on the left hand top corner of the keyboard and it would get beautifully illuminated. Dont worry coz the screen would automatically change its position to match.
THE SPECIFICATIONS
Full 128x128 pixel 4096 color display (pixel=the small dots of which the screen is made). The screen is bright but the display is not very clear since the dot-pitch(linear distance between two pixels) is too much. Games run pretty slow and a trace is always observed when anything moves - I find that pretty annoying.
E-mail Why is keyboard for?? - Messaging (i guess!!)..To give you more ability to message some one, E-mail feature has been added. You can configure it to receive and send e-mails. The process is rigorous and you require many details to do it. The access to the internet is provided by GPRS(explained below) and it is necessary for E-mail
GPRS - (General Packet Radio Service) - a kind of internet service provided by most of the cellular service providers. This enables you to view websites (Only WAP sites actually - explained in detail below).
WAP 1.2.1 - (Wireless Application Protocol) - This is a protocol used to make websites small in size..so that they can easily fit into the mobile's memory. With WAP 1.2.1 you can access only the sites that are designed for WAP - they are not the normal HTML websites that you visit using Internet Explorer or Netscape. And that means you cannot visit mouthshut.com from this mobile.
But in high-end phones such as 3650,7650,6600,7600 you can visit websites made with HTML - provided that they dont have frames.
FM Radio - My favourite feature of this phone. Catch Radio Mirchi, Radio city or any other FM station with this handset while on the move - and not having to miss your important calls. The sound clarity is great. But to listen to the radio, be it with the headset or the loudspeaker - you have to keep the headset connected to the phone - as this headset serves the antenna !! there is a button on the handsfree allowing you to change the channels. (oh sorry!! - you can store 20 channels!!)
MMS - The in-thing..but not very nice for this phone..coz MMS are usually composed of personal images - but from where would they come - there is no camera !!!
Infrared And POP-Port Infrared lets you connect you phone to a computer, send and receive data from other phones..In this phone you can only send and receive business cards (an electronic one - that contains a contact name and its phone numbers !!)..No Option For Image transfer of ringtones.
The POP - port a sort of connection (using cable is present in the lower portion, you can connect a camera using this port..Either the Nokia Fun Camera or the Nokia Camera Headset..But they are useless in my opinion.
Polyphonic Ringtones Ringtones can be heard pretty well and they are loud enough.
MISC - The loudpseaker of this phone is nice and a whole room can listen to conversion and participate in it.The voice clarity is superb. So is the battery backup. There is ample memory too - 4MB.
My opinion - Considering looks this phone is great - and when the keyboard is open and the light of the keyboard is on. But after few days it may seem too bulky. And if you are not intending to message so much then this phone is not the nice buy. There are other phones from NOKIA offering the same features with different looks - 3100,6610,6100. I think you should throw a glance at these before you purchase this one..
