Nokia 6230 is slightly larger and a touch heavier than the 6220, with this Nokia 6230 brings a number of enhancements. I like to present its features and my views. Before Buying the same, I had made search for 15 days to find appropriate Mobile. I find this a better mobile so I purchased the same.
This phone is combination of Classical feature and Modern Technology. The classic exterior of the phone gives the impression of solidity and stability. While at the same time its interior conceals a great emphasis on multimedia.
Features
The 6230 lies well in ones hand, with minimum keypad noise. The 5way navigational button is also quite muted. It is Tri-band GSM 1900 MHz connectivity. There is support for EDGE and GPRS. It has features like supports for Java-based e-mail client, voice commands, polyphonic ring tones, a voice recorder and spacious phone book.
MMS support in the 6230 has been expanded with SMIL. The 6230 is also equipped with a 0.3 mega pixel VGA camera. Furthermore, it plays host to a music/video player, which is also why it comes with an MMC card expansion slot located under its battery. A 32 MB MMC card comes bundled in the package, and the phone also has dynamic memory of 6 MB. MP3 and MPEG4 are both formats which can be stored for playback on the Nokia 6230, which incidentally also offers up an integrated FM radio.
It is a very slender and compact handset at 10.3 x 4.4 x 2 cm and 98 g.
It is having an active TFT color display with 65,536 colors.
The screen resolution is still relatively poor at 128 x 128 pixels.
The camera is with full VGA resolution up to 640 x 480 pixels. This phone is having some features like self timer function, a choice of standard, portrait, and night modes.
The Bluetooth had been added feature in the same and that will replaces the infrared connection in old model the 6220.
Amazing Performance
Based as it is on Nokia's Series 40 platform, the Nokia 6230 is both user friendly and agile, while text input is a breeze due to the excellent interaction between keypad and operating system.
Offering quality fully on par with cameras typically found in smart phones with regard to picture-taking under poorly lit conditions, the integrated VGA camera offers a resolution of 0.3 mega pixels. A still taken under favorable lighting conditions is available here. Video recording and playback are also supported, while both pictures and video can easily be stored and sent via MMS, Infrared or Bluetooth. The display of the handset, is approximately on par with Sony Ericsson's T310i or T610.
The Nokia 6230 performs very well with regard to audio, which is particularly important considering it's equipped with both an FM radio and an MP3 player - the latter of which also offers a handy equalizer. Nokia claims that 6230 is offering 5 hours of talk time and 12.5 days of standby time.
Conclusion
The 6230 is just being Nokia's most solid and well-equipped mobile phone ever. In my opinion, it is one of the best handset available in the market today. Very few handset match its powerful specifications, multimedia features and connectivity options.
Enhancement
The Nokia Camp is having habit of renovating their older version phones. Nokia has given new model of 6230i which is successing current 6230. It has a 1.3 Mega pixel Camera a improved display, better Mp3 stereo, supports for more html pages. It also has a FM stereo radio. The Phone Memory is a considerable improvement. The phone supports up to 512 MB of MMC card capacity.
