As far as the getup is concerned, the 3610 version presents a striking contrast to the otherwise sober & modest interfaces of the earlier nokia presentations like 3310, 3315 etc. It harbours a jazzy design with pop art graphics which Nokia exclusively dedicates to the GenerationX syndrome. Along with the Turquoise backdrop, one gets to see lime, vermillion & steel grey dispositions.They come in six interchangeable Xpress-onTM front and back covers.

The 3610 presents 10 menu options, namely, Messages, Call register, Profiles, Settings, Picture editor(New), Games, Calculator, Reminders(New), Clock and Services(WAP 1.1). A mentionable variant is the individual Chat option, which has been embedded inside the Messages option unlike that in the earlier models. Multiple SMS is a new entry wherein a SMS can be sent to many people at once. Saving SMS as reminders helps one avoid the ordeal of retyping the contents. The Personalized SMS alert system sets a ringtone to notify the user of the arrival of a new SMS. A Rhythmic backlight alert system enables the backlight to dance to the tune of the ringtone whenever a call is received. Picture Messaging allows for a picture to be drawn with the help of the keys and sent later. The Profiles option is much like the Windows Desktop Theme where customizations galore with screensaver, ringtones etc of a particular style. The Picture Editor is a funky tool that allows the user to unleash his artistic capability. There are also 6-8 custom pictures and cliparts present. But, the best add-on is the incorporation of a HINDI interface which really makes my heart swell with PRIDE. Since, this model has been designed keeping an eye on the Asia-Pacific market, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Malaysian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Philipino

languages are also present. Reminder allows to bookmark a future event for notification at the appropriate moment. There are 6 games, namely, SnakeII, Space Impact, Dance 2 Music, Bumper, Link5 & Magic Draw. Space Impact is much like the space ship computer games while Bumper is the Cell version of PINBALL. Link5 is a strategy game where one is pitted against the Cell Phone. The Services option is the key to WAP Services & comes with a WAP browser where Webpages written in WML(Wireless Markup Language) unlike the cliched HTML can be navigated. It also facilitates the download of games, logos, ringtones & all the goodies. Club Nokia is a lucrative site for these download activities & comes implanted in the cell phone as to it's whereabouts and web address. But, the availability of WAP is dependent on the Service Provider & it's really delightful to know that a majority of SPs offer this service. There is also a tune composer which can be used to compose ringtones of one's personal choice. There are 43 ringtones out of which 36 are factory made & 7 customizable.

The model comes with a year's warranty. Nokia has put up a large number of service centres all across our country where the prompt diagnosis of factory defects and service glitches are handled with finesse. If the model develops any snag within the warranty period, the service outlets take care of the fix free of charge.
